1.  What were your motives for helping this person?

As A Social Science professional, I truly wanted to see this person win and accomplish all of their goals.

2.  Did you benefit from this relationship in any way?  How?

Yes; I felt I assisted the individual by providing available resources that were not know.  This made me feel as if I actually accomplished something during that day, as if I provided a positive input into the universe.

3.  What was your role in the helping relationship?  In what way do you think you helped this person?  Look back, is there anything that you might have done differently?

Support System; I helped this person by providing resources to address his crisis.  No

4.  Was there anything that this person did, said, or believed that you did not agree with?  How did you react?

No, This person was in a crisis as he defined for himself.  I simply reacted by providing resources to address his issues.

5.  Did you learn anything from this relationship?

Yes, A crisis is exactly what an individual sees as an issue that is impossible for him/her to handle at any given time.

It sounded like you provided your client with just what he needed. After having read and reviewed Chapter 1 helping skills do you think that you might approach the situation differently? Or the same?
